Furnace Lakes Coarse Fishery 15.03.2008 A lovely complex of lakes set in the West Sussex country side, surrounded by woods. Sadly though disabled access is not very good. There is a gravel roadway from the car park to the lakes, and gravel paths to most pegs, pegs are wooden platforms. But a lot of the paths have an incline and the platforms are not all suitable for wheelchairs. I did not cover the whole complex, but did not see purpose built platforms for the disabled. This complex I would have to say is more for the able bodied disabled angler. There is a quad bike service to transport you and your tackle to your swim, if you are doing longer sessions (24 hours +). Sadly this service is not available to the day ticket fisherman. I found the staff very helpful. There is a small tackle shop on site. There are toilets on site, but I did not see any disabled toilets (again though I did not cover the whole site). There are fishing lodges with hot and cold water, etc. Which for anyone doing longer sessions is very useful. If your favourite fisheries are not listed, please contact us.
